At present, the demand for foreign workers in Thailand is increasing, largely because there may not be enough domestic workers to meet the demand, or some fields are unable to find Thai workers who have the skills for the necessary jobs.
Employers or establishments that bring foreign workers to work in Thailand are initially obliged to notify the registrar of the foreigners’ employment.
For employers who open a business or establish a new business in Thailand and are looking for workers to join the business but are stuck with the problem of not being able to find enough workers.
Regarding traveling to work in Thailand legally by foreigners, there are four categories of foreign workers who are eligible to apply for work permits in Thailand
Although Thailand is open to accepting foreigners to work within the country, in practice, there are still requirements in the Immigration Act of 1979 regarding certain characteristics of foreigners that would make them ineligible to enter the country.
