Guidelines and Service Channels for Importing Fertilizer into the Kingdom

     Those who wish to import fertilizer into the Kingdom must follow the announcements of the Department of Agriculture as follows:

  1. The Department of Agriculture’s  2011 announcement regarding the guidelines, procedures, and conditions relating to fertilizers that are exempted from registration under the 1975 Fertilizer Act, which was amended by the 2007 Fertilizer Act (No.2).
  2. The Department of Agriculture’s announcement regarding the guidelines, procedures, and conditions for importing, exporting, or manufacturing fertilizers that do not have to comply with Article 12 and Article 35 of the 1975 Fertilizer Act, which was amended by the 2007 Fertilizer Act (No.2).
  3. The Department of Agriculture’s announcement regarding the guidelines and methods of importing fertilizer, or substances suspected to be fertilizer in appropriate quantities, to serve as samples for inspection or analysis under the 1975 Fertilizer Act, which was amended by the 2007 Fertilizer Act (No.2).
  4. If the application or supporting documents for consideration are incomplete or incorrect, and cannot be corrected at the time, the applicant and the recipient must jointly sign a record of discrepancies and a list of evidence, and set a deadline for the applicant to correct the application within the specified time.
  5. The work procedure according to the manual will start counting from the time the officer checks the documents completely and correctly as specified in the manual.

     For service channels, services can be obtained at the Plant Inspection Station, under the Department of Agriculture. The service is available from Monday to Friday (except public holidays) from 08:30 to 16:30 hrs. (lunch break included).
