Thailand’s Digital Economy Promotion Agency (Depa) has launched a major initiative to accelerate AI and digital technology adoption among entrepreneurs, SMEs, and farmers. Phuket was chosen as a key location to drive the effort under the national strategy “AI Transformation Policy: Adapt to Survive, Change for the Thai Economy.”
The goal is to help businesses lower operating costs, improve product and service quality, and strengthen long-term competitiveness. To support this shift, Depa is offering two financial programs:
The d-transform scheme funds major digital upgrades for 600 SMEs in manufacturing, trade, services, and processed agriculture.
The d-voucher scheme helps 15,000 small businesses and farmers begin using digital tools for the first time.
In total, more than 15,600 businesses nationwide are expected to benefit from these measures.
Data from Phuket, Krabi, Surat Thani and nearby provinces show strong interest in cost-saving technologies. The most requested solutions include water and farm management systems, restaurant and online sales platforms, and logistics or stock-control systems. These reflect the region’s priority to raise productivity, reduce workloads, and increase earnings.
The AI Transformation Roadshow also featured digital skills workshops, funding consultations, and business matching. It will travel to eight provinces, with applications open until 16 January 2026.
