Thailand’s newly launched “Thais Help Thais Plus” co-payment scheme has been welcomed by small business operators across the country, with many expressing optimism that the initiative will help boost consumer spending and support local economic activity.
On the first day of the program, 1 June 2026, participating shops and market vendors have displayed signs indicating their enrollment, allowing customers to easily identify businesses where they could use the scheme. The atmosphere at local markets was upbeat, as merchants prepared for an anticipated increase in customer traffic.
Many vendors said that they had stocked up on additional products in expectation of greater demand in the coming weeks. Shop owners believe that the program will help revitalize spending at the community level and provide much-needed support for small retailers.
Several merchants compared this initiative to past government support measures that successfully stimulated domestic consumption and increased sales for local businesses. They hope that the new program will produce similar results by encouraging households to spend more and boosting money circulation within local communities.
The “Thais Help Thais Plus” co-payment scheme forms part of the Government’s broader efforts to strengthen domestic consumption, support small and medium-sized enterprises, and maintain economic momentum. For many local business operators, the program has already brought renewed confidence and expectations of improved sales in the months ahead.
