Steps and Conditions for Permit Request to Collect Non-Protected Forest Products within National Forest Reserves

National forest reserves are under the protection of the National Reserved Forest Act to safeguard protected forest items and for conservation purposes. Anyone wishing to legally collect non-protected forest products within national forest reserves must properly request permission, forwarding it to the district or sub-district officers where the forest is located, according to the form stipulated in the 1985 Ministerial Regulation No. 1,107 issued under the National Reserved Forest Act. Procedures must follow the regulations of the Department of Forestry regarding the 1986 permission to collect forest products within national forest reserves, following these steps:

  1. The permit applicant submits the application along with related documents to the officer. The officer checks for completeness and correctness of the supporting documents.
  2. The officer inspects the area requested for permission and prepares a list of inspection results within a period of 10 business days.
  3. The related officer conducts a survey of the forest production potential to support the consideration of granting permission to collect forest products appropriately and prepares a report of the survey results within a period of 15 business days.
  4. The provincial governor considers signing the permit to collect forest products and prepares a report to the Department of Forestry, all within a period of 15 business days.

Each step is carried out by agencies under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment or the Office of Natural Resources and Environment of the local province.
