Thailand's Ministry of Tourism and Sports, in partnership with the National Institute of Emergency Medicine, is thrilled to announce a new 50-million-Baht (Approx 1.38 million USD) medical aid initiative for foreign tourists. This groundbreaking scheme is designed to enhance tourist safety and confidence, offering financial assistance in the unfortunate event of accidents, crimes, or disasters during their visit.

Key Highlights:

 


 Medical aid coverage includes up to 1 million Baht in the event of death, up to 500,000 Baht for accident injury treatment, and 300,000 Baht for permanent disability or organ loss.

 


 Open to foreign tourists with a valid passport visiting Thailand for tourism purposes between 1 January – 31 August 2024.

 


 Introducing the "Thailand Traveller Safety" (TTS) system for easy online registration and eligibility screening.

 


 A proposed Tourist Emergency Medical Assistance Centre to ensure quick and efficient medical response.

This initiative, not covering incidents caused by tourists' carelessness or illegal acts, aims to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. Registration can be completed online, at designated offices, or via email and post.
