 “Kho Khun Phon Yang Kham”

        If talking about the best meat of Thailand that is known all over the world, it must be “Kho Khun Phon Yang Kham”. High quality beef from Phon Yang Kham Village, Non Hom Subdistrict Mueang District, Sakon Nakhon Province. It is a Thai-French hybrid beef cattle.

        The outstanding feature of the Phon Yang Kham cattle is the artificial insemination of three breeds of beef cattle: Charolays originated in France as the main breed, Simmentol originated in Switzerland, and Limousine breed originate in France. When they are 2 years old, they will enter the “Ko Khun” method by using the technique of letting the cows listen to music in order for the cows to eat more food. It is believed that the beef will be tender. It is fed mainly natural food and is supplemented with a special diet that uses grains in production. It is believed that beef will have a sweeter aroma and taste.

        Nowadays, Ko Khun Phon Yang Kham are popular among both Thais and foreigners until they were registered as a “Geographical Indication” or GI in 2016, helping to create value and reputation for Ko Khun Phon Yang Kham even more.
