Creating desirable values and culture in the business sector

     Cultivating values and cultures is an important foundation for human resource empowerment and development. It requires participation from all sectors and those that need to create desirable values and cultures. This need for values encourages the business sector to build good governance without corruption and misconduct, and to consider the growth of natural resources and the environment based on participation, by establishing a sense of social responsibility in the company, including shareholders, executives, employees, employees, and customers, as well as changing the attitude of business operations from focusing on the highest returns of shareholders to taking into account social costs and sustainable benefits to the public.

     In addition, the management and measures of the government should be enhanced so that the business sector is responsible for the adjustment of good values and culture and for promoting activities to give back to society to encourage sustainable social business operations, as well as for promoting the development of the business sector into a moral organization.

     The goal is that "the business sector plays an important role in increasing social investment," and the "number of social enterprises" is considered an indicator.

The targets of desirable values, goals, and culture set by the business sector are as follows:

  • Fifty social enterprises from 2018 to 2023;
  • One hundred social enterprises from 2023 to 2027;
  • One hundred and eighty social enterprises from 2028 to 2032;
  • Three hundred social enterprises from 2033 to 2037.

Guidelines for development include the following:

  1. Strengthen and develop mechanisms for the business sector to promote, support, and create good values and culture by creating incentives that would encourage the private sector to participate in various forms of social investment development, such as social enterprises, product development for the community, media development, and technology for learning;
  2. Enhance the management of businesses, including government measures, so that the business sector is responsible for making the change to good values and culture, such as contests or honoring the company or business sector, good governance examples, and creating good values and culture. The company or business sector promotes good values, morality, ethics, discipline, public spirit, and conscience about the conservation of natural resources and an environment that considers the changes of the modern world and human behavior, which are constantly changing.
