Registration fees for petty patents

Registration fees for petty patents

     The purpose of petty patent registration is to protect creative works resulting from inventions that are not complex or only slightly innovative but they must be a new invention and applicable to an industry with increased practical use. Those who register a petty patent must prepare the documents as specified by the Department of Intellectual Property and the relevant fees. The details of the fees are as follows:

  1. Fee for application for a new petty patent: 250 baht;
  2. Fee for the publication and issuance of an important document of a patent: 500 baht;
  3. Fee for requesting amendments of application: 50 baht. This fee shall be paid when the applicant amends or adds supplemental documents. When the official considers the application and finds a correctable defect, the applicant must amend it according to the officer's instructions;
  4. Fee for requesting for examination of patent: 250 baht. This fee shall be paid by the party who requests the examination or by the party who believes they have a better right to the petty patent applicant and wishes to have the invention examined;
  5. Fee for requesting to change the type of patent: 100 baht. This fee is applicable when changing a request for a petty patent to an invention patent;
  6. Fee for other requests: 50 baht (if a fee is not specified for that particular request, this fee rate will be used instead).
