Thailand has recently opened a way for foreigners who want to travel to Thailand to apply for a visa online, though it does not include foreigners in every country.  

Thai e-Visa request system

        Visa applications will continue to be processed in parallel with the online system. There are nine countries that can file for a visa online: China, United Kingdom, France, United States, South Korea, Canada, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. The e-Visa is a system that allows foreign tourists visiting Thailand to apply for a visa online at www.thaievisa.go.th. The system is an alien inspection system that issues visas for persons who wish to travel to Thailand via electronic means, which is convenient, reduces congestion, and creates information on the security agency, which is in accordance with the standard of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).  

Procedure  

 1. Request to apply for a visa online by scanning the QR Code on the website www.thaeevisa.go.th.

2. Fill out the form in English and submit documents.

3. Make an appointment in the day-time through the system to travel to submit a passport at a Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate.
4. Pay fees electronically using Kasikorn Bank’s system (e-Payment). After that, receive a receipt via email and print the appointment certificate.
