Inspection of passengers departing from Thailand via water transportation

     Foreigners or tourists who enter Thailand via water transportation and have stayed in the country for a period of time as notified to the immigration checkpoint officer are required to leave Thailand within the specified timeframe. To comply with this requirement, they must prepare the following documents to be presented at the immigration checkpoint:

  1. Vehicle registration (Tor Mor 2/1);
  2. Passenger list (Tor Mor 3/1);
  3. Passport or substitute documents;
  4. Arrival-Departure card (Tor Mor 6).

The steps and procedures are as follows:

     1. The vehicle owner or controller must notify the checkpoint officer at the immigration control station in Thailand of the scheduled date and time that the vehicle will depart from the port, station, or municipality listed on the Form Tor Mor 2/1, before the vehicle departs, within the timeframe specified in the announcement;

     2. The officer will check the passenger manifest submitted by the vehicle owner or controller to ensure that the information in the manifest is correct;

     3. The officer will examine the passenger manifest (Form Tor Mor 3/1) submitted by the vehicle owner or controller in order to ensure that it matches the passport or travel document or its substitute;

     4. All foreign nationals, including Thai citizens traveling outside of Thailand, must report to the checkpoint officer at the designated checkpoint when leaving the country. Regardless of the type of transportation used, each person must complete one Departure Card (Form Tor Mor 6) and must present it with his or her passport or travel document and proof of address or a certificate of residence (in the case of foreign nationals who have been granted permission to reside in Thailand);

     5. Once the evidence has been verified as accurate, the officer will stamp the departure seal on the passport or other travel documents, residence certificate or substitute certificate, along with the officer's signature, date, vehicle name, and inspection stamp on the Tor Mor 6 card;

     6. The owner or controller of the vehicle is required to pay a fee for the inspection of departing passengers in accordance with Section 33 of the Immigration Act.
