Changes and amendments to information of foreigners in Thailand

              Foreigners residing in Thailand are required to process the Alien Registration and hold a foreigner identity card to prove their identity and residence while staying in the Kingdom. Application for amendments can be submitted with the following documents:

   - Alien certificate;
   - Passport or document in lieu of a passport (Copy of pages with photo and personal information, the last two endorsements of re-entry permit, last two travel history, and notes);
   - Documents for residence permit application (copies of pages 1-5, copies of the last two endorsements of re-entry permit, copies of the last two travel history);
   - 4 photos of upper half of body and straight face without hat, size 4x6 cm, taken within the last 30 days;
   - 1 copy of house registration (copy of pages 2-7, copy of last renewal page, copy of position change page, copy of duties and responsibilities or place of work);
   - Work permit (if any);
   - Thor.Tor.1 Form or Thor.Tor.3 Form, as the case may be.

The procedure is divided into two cases:

1) In the case of an foreigner submitting a request for correction at the local registrar:

- The foreigner submits an application for amending the particulars with evidence relating to the amendment of the particulars to be presented;

- The documents, including identity certificates, must be reviewed;

- The requesting person will be investigated and his/her request will be submitted to Sub-Division 1, Immigration Division 1, to consider waiving the occupation corrections. The registrar may approve the amendment according to the facts;

- After receiving approval from the commander of the Immigration Division 1, Sub-Division 1, Immigration Division 1 will notify the local foreigner registrar to make corrections in the original document and the identity certificate;

- Sub-Division 1, Immigration Division 1 will amend the terminal document to match the documents of the registrar.

2) In the case of a foreigner submitting a request at Sub-Division 1, Immigration Division 1:

- Examine the evidence presented by the requesting person together with terminals and his/her identity certificates;

- Investigate the foreigner in detail;

- Submit the case of investigation together with opinions to the commander of Immigration Division 1 for consideration and order.
