Foreigners who lose their passports while in Thailand must report the lost passport at a local police station before submitting a request to their embassy to get a new passport.

          Supporting documents for making a request to the embassy are (a) a copy of the notification from the police station, and (b) a copy of previous passport with personal information and photo (if any). When the new passport is received, the foreigner will need a letter from the embassy to the Immigration Bureau to request cooperation from the Immigration Bureau to provide a new arrival stamp on the new passport of the foreigner.

Procedure for getting a new arrival stamp in the new passport:

1. Contact the staff at the counter service of the Change Passport Book Department, Sub-Division 2, Immigration Division 1 to submit a request, and fill in details, such as name, surname, passport number, date/month/year entering into the Kingdom, and arrival flight number.
2. The officials check the details and accuracy of the request and check the integrity of the new passport or travel documents. The notification of grievance must be submitted.
3. The officials check the evidence of traveling into the Kingdom.
4. When the entry information into the Kingdom is found, the officials proceed with placing the arrival stamp in the passport for the foreigner.
5. If the foreigner requests to stay in the Kingdom or has a residence in the Kingdom, they should meet the officials at the department related to the visa, or Division 1, Immigration Division 1.
