The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) received the "Destination of the Year" award in the Outstanding Achievement category at the 33rd Annual TTG Travel Awards 2024 and Gala Dinner. The event was organized by TTG, a renowned producer of online and print media in the travel industry within the Asia-Pacific region, on September 26, 2024, at the Centara Grand Hotel and Bangkok Convention Centre, Bangkok.
This award is given to a destination that stands out in the Asia-Pacific region and shows initiative in proactively developing and promoting the tourism industry. This marks the eighth time that Thailand has received the "Destination of the Year" award from TTG, having previously won in 1998, 2002, 2006, 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2018. TAT, as the organization promoting tourism in Thailand, has also won TTG Travel Awards for "Outstanding Achievement Awards for Best Travel Marketing Effort" and "Best National Tourism Organisation."
This year, a total of 106 awards were given out across the Asia-Pacific region, including the Pan Pacific Hotels Group in the category of Best Regional Hotel Chain, Centara Grand Hotel and Bangkok Convention Centre in the category of Best Meetings & Conventions Hotel, Thai Airways, which received the TTG Travel Hall of Fame Honor and Best In-flight Service, and Scoot Airlines won the Best Low-Cost Carrier category.
