Thammasat University Launches Three New Programs to Drive SDGs and Green Economy Worth 300 Trillion Baht

Thammasat University has introduced three new academic programs designed
to produce professionals and leaders in sustainable development (SDGs),
aligning with Thailand’s Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model and global
sustainability trends (ESG). The initiative aims to strengthen Thailand’s
competitiveness in the emerging green economy, projected to reach a global
value of USD 10.3 trillion, or about 300 trillion baht, by 2050. The programs
span from undergraduate to executive levels, covering the full spectrum from
foundational knowledge to leadership in sustainability.
The first program, Bachelor of Science in Sustainability Management, focuses
on developing skilled graduates capable of integrating sustainability practices
into organizations and communities. Students will undergo over 1,000 hours of
hands-on training, supported by more than 140 private-sector partners under
the Global Compact Network Thailand. The Bachelor of Arts in Human Potential
and Well-Being program, meanwhile, combines neuroscience, psychology, art
therapy, and social equity to cultivate specialists who can enhance workplace
well-being and resolve intergenerational and interpersonal conflicts—roles that
are increasingly vital in modern organizations.
Additionally, Thammasat introduced the TU ESG NEXT for Sustainability
Leadership program, designed to equip executives from public, private, and
state enterprise sectors with the knowledge and tools to implement ESG
principles effectively within their organizations. By building a network of
sustainability-minded leaders, the program seeks to empower Thailand’s
transition toward a resilient and sustainable future, ensuring that economic
growth goes hand-in-hand with environmental and social responsibility.
