Individuals wishing to legally utilize protected timber must follow the regulations set out in the National Reserved Forest Act, Section 11, and the 2017 Ministerial Regulation on the Permission and Authorization of Protected Timber. When applying within the Bangkok Metropolitan Area, applications should be submitted to the Timber Permission Section of the Department of Forestry, according to the forms stipulated in the Department of Forestry’s 2017 Announcement on the Permission and Authorization of Protected Timber and the 1941 National Reserved Forest Act. 3. The inspecting officers compile a report of the results along with the relevant documents and propose this to the Director of the Permission Office for consideration. This process takes a further 20 working days.
  4. The Director-General of the Forestry Department reviews the application and informs the applicant of the results, allowing for the payment of the fee within seven working days.
  5. The Director-General of the Forestry Department signs the permit for the use of protected timber, a process which takes seven working days.
