For those conducting businesses involving the trading of protected forest products, it is a service provided by the Department of National Parks. As outlined in the 1941 Forest Act, Section 29, no one may trade or possess such items without permission from the relevant authorities and must comply with the stipulations in the Ministerial Regulations. The 21st edition of the 1974 Ministerial Regulations issued under the 1941 Forest Act, sets that anyone wishing to trade or possess protected forest products beyond the amount declared by the Minister in the Government Gazette must submit an application using form Khor Por 1 or Khor Por 2, depending on the case, to the local authority of the district, sub-district, or province where the trading or storage of the protected forest products takes place.
