Consideration for Approval of Disaster Relief Fund Disbursement

     When we become victims of dangerous situations, illness, or violence when we are acting as good citizens or helping with government work, we are entitled to assistance or disaster relief funds. There are criteria and conditions for considering the approval of the disbursement of disaster relief funds for victims who have helped the government, performed duties for the nation, or who have acted in accordance with moral principles, as follows:

  • In the case of organ loss, compensation will be provided, and if the victim receives medical treatment according to the doctor's orders, they will be entitled to compensation during the hospitalization period, based on a daily rate;
  • In the case of severe disabilities, in addition to the aforementioned compensation, the victim will also be entitled to a monthly living allowance, as well as medical expenses;
  • In the event of death, heirs, such as parents, spouses, and children, are entitled to receive compensation for pre-death medical expenses, compensation, and funeral expenses.

     The danger that is incurred must not be caused by gross negligence or one’s fault. Such requests must be made within a period of two years from the date the entitled person became aware of his or her right to do so. Victims may request financial assistance through the application for financial assistance at district offices nationwide, at the provincial treasury offices across the country, and at the Department of the Comptroller General.

     The supporting documents should include a relief fund form, a government assistance order, national duty work or human rights duty documentation, factual investigation reports, the highest court's orders or verdicts, certified medical certificates, national identification cards, household registration copies (Thor Ror 14), proof of death, and other documents.

     Consultations may be requested at district offices in Bangkok, all district offices nationwide (which are the locations where the incident occurred), provincial treasury offices, and at the Salary, Wages, Pension Disbursement Administration Division of the Department of the Comptroller General.
