Thailand's Growing Popularity: International Students Flock to Universities

In 2024, the number of international students in Thai universities has seen a significant increase, particularly from China, which accounts for 53% of all international students studying in Thailand. This trend marks an interesting growth, with Chinese students consistently rising in numbers each year. The latest figures show a substantial increase to 28,052 students, up from 14,423 in 2020.

The appeal of education in Thailand is not only due to lower costs compared to other countries but also because of its quality, which is on par with international standards. This attracts students from diverse backgrounds, especially in higher education. Several Thai universities, such as Kasem Bundit University, Shinawatra University, and Stamford International University, have shifted their focus towards catering to Chinese students and increasing international enrollment.

As a result, Thailand has become a desirable destination for students worldwide, presenting a significant opportunity to boost revenue from higher education in the long term.
