Get to Know Queen Sirikit Park: Bangkok’s First BGCI-Certified Botanical Garden

Queen Sirikit Park is more than just a beautiful flower garden and urban retreat. It made history by becoming the first botanical garden in Bangkok to receive international certification from Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) on September 16, 2024. It is also the third garden in all of Thailand to earn this prestigious recognition.

The park has undergone extensive development to offer visitors a complete and enriching experience. On February 25, 2025, at 5:00 PM, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen officially inaugurated Queen Sirikit Park as an internationally recognized botanical garden.

This precious urban oasis provides fresh air, uplifts the spirit with natural beauty, and instills pride in Thailand’s botanical heritage. The BGCI certification reflects the Thai people’s strong commitment to sustainable conservation.

The royal inauguration symbolizes a gracious gift to all citizens, inviting everyone to connect with nature, learn, and grow alongside a thriving green space in the heart of the city. Queen Sirikit Park is not just a “green space” but the “heartbeat” of Bangkok, pulsing with nature, knowledge, and royal dedication.
