TAT and Jim Thompson Partner for ‘Amazing Thailand’ Silk Collection to Boost Luxury Tourism

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Jim Thompson have launched the “Amazing Thailand x Jim Thompson” collection, a new initiative designed to showcase Thai silk, cultural heritage, and craftsmanship while strengthening Thailand’s position as a premium tourism destination.

The collaboration coincides with the 75th anniversary of Jim Thompson and forms part of TAT’s “Soul of Siam: Crafted Luxury” campaign, which promotes high-value tourism through authentic cultural experiences, local craftsmanship, and creative storytelling.

According to Nat Kruthasoot, Deputy Governor for Tourism Products and Business at TAT, the partnership highlights Thailand’s rich cultural identity by connecting traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design and tourism experiences. The initiative aims to attract quality travelers seeking meaningful and immersive experiences while generating greater economic value from tourism.

The collection draws inspiration from Thailand’s diverse textile traditions and features contemporary interpretations of Thai silk through scarves, kaftans, travel accessories, and lifestyle products. Design elements incorporate influences from northern Lanna floral patterns, northeastern Mudmee silk, southern batik textiles, and Thailand’s waterways, reflecting the country’s cultural diversity.

As one of 15 brands participating in TAT’s luxury tourism initiative, Jim Thompson represents Thailand’s internationally recognized silk heritage and creative economy. The partnership also promotes curated tourism routes linked to the Jim Thompson House Museum, the Baan Krua weaving community, and the Jim Thompson Art Center, offering visitors opportunities to experience Thai craftsmanship, history, and local culture firsthand.

Officials said the project supports Thailand’s strategy of leveraging cultural assets and creative industries as drivers of tourism growth, reinforcing the country’s reputation as a destination where heritage, design, and luxury experiences come together.
