Government to Host a Grand Celebration in Honor of the 100th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol (Rama VIII) 🇹🇭✨
On Saturday, 20 September 2025, the Government of Thailand will organize a series of events to commemorate the 100th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol, Rama VIII, as a tribute to His benevolence and everlasting grace toward the Thai people.
📌 Main Ceremonies
- Buddhist chanting and almsgiving ceremony dedicated in remembrance of His Majesty
- Laying of flower wreaths in tribute, presided over by the Prime Minister
📌 Commemorative Events at Wat Suthat Thepwararam, Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok
From 20 – 27 September 2025, the Office of the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office in collaboration with Wat Suthat will organize a variety of activities, including:
🌸 Royal exhibitions showcasing His Majesty’s biography and royal duties
🎭 Cultural performances and demonstrations of intangible heritage
🌌 Light Garden Exhibition themed on Buddhism
🏛️ Night Museum at the Residence of the Supreme Patriarch (Somdet Phra Sangharaja Pae Tissadeva Maha Thera)
🙏 “Noppapuchaniy” ceremony and the “Sacred Nine-tier Altar” contest
🛍️ Local product fairs with decorative illuminations adorning Wat Suthat’s surroundings
