Most Popular Thai Universities among Sri Lankan Students
Thailand and Sri Lanka have had a long and smooth diplomatic relationship. Both countries have religious and cultural ties because they share the same religious belief, Buddhism. In the past, Thailand has offered Royal Kathin robes to a major temple in Sri Lanka annually.
Thailand has also provided assistance to Sri Lanka through the International Development Cooperation Agency. The focus has been on humanitarian assistance, infrastructure restoration, vocational training and income generation, agriculture, community development, education, and tourism.
In the past, the Thai government has provided academic cooperation to Sri Lanka in the form of annual scholarships or training grants under various projects, e.g., Thai International Postgraduate Program (TIPP), Annual International Training Courses (AITC), the Trilateral Cooperation, and Third Country Training Program (TCTP).
In the academic year 2022, there were 28 Sri Lankan graduates from Thai public and private universities. Moreover, there are a number of Sri Lankan students studying a variety of fields in Thai public and private universities, as follows:
