Get to know the MRTA Pink Line

The Khae Rai - Min Buri MRT Pink Line Project is one of the Mass Rapid Transit Master Plans in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region (M-MAP) to support the commuting in the northern areas of Bangkok. It is a “straddle” monorail operated by a secondary mass transit or the first monorail line in Thailand, with a distance of 34.5 kilometers.

The Pink Line consists of 30 stations with a station structure that is elevated above the road surface. Station platforms are either side or center platforms, depending on the station conditions.

The route can be described as follows:

  • It starts on Rattanathibet Road at Nonthaburi Government Center (or Civic Center) Station, which connects to the Purple Line Bang Yai - Bang Sue, and passes through Khae Rai intersection.
  • Next, it runs along Tiwanon Road to the Pak Kret intersection, turns right and goes along Chaengwattana Road, passes the Government Complex Commemorating His Majesty The King's 80th Birthday Anniversary, heads to the Lak Si Intersection, which connects to the Red Line Bang Sue - Rangsit at Lak Si Station.
  • Then, it goes straight to the Phithak Ratthayu Monument Roundabout, with Wat Phra Si Mahathat Station as an interchange station with the Green Line (Mo Chit - Saphan Mai).
  • Then it runs straight along Ram Inthra Road to Minburi intersection, enters Minburi Center along Sihaburanukit Road before crossing Khlong Sam Wa, and turns right across Saen Saep Canal and runs onto Ramkhamhaeng Road (Sukhapiban 3), until it ends at Romklao intersection, which connects to the Orange Line (Taling Chan - Min Buri) at Min Buri Station.
Based on information as of November 2022, civil works progress was 93.85%; electric train system progress was 94.12%; and overall progress was 94.00%. It will be officially opened for service in June 2023.

The MRT Pink Line’s original fares were set at the rate of 14-42 baht, the same as that for the Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line, or the Blue Line, but the fares will be reviewed based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and re-set approximately 30 days before full service.

The Pink Line (Si Rat Station - Muang Thong Thani Extension) has a connection point for the main Pink Line at Muang Thong Thani Station, entering Soi Chaengwattana - Pak Kret 39 and ending at the lake area in Muang Thong Thani, with an approximate distance of 3 kilometers, consisting of 2 stations: IMPACT Muang Thong Thani Station and Lake Muang Thong Thani Station.
