A New Zoo and Ecotourism: Upholding the Royal Vision of King Rama X

The government has allocated a budget of 1.1 billion baht to establish a new zoo in honor of His Majesty King Rama X. The concept behind this zoo is to create a world-class, modern facility that not only serves as a recreational space but also as a comprehensive international center for nature education.

This zoo is designed to serve as:

  • A wildlife education center: A place where people can learn about animals, both in and out of their natural habitats, within a fully intact ecosystem.
  • A research and conservation hub: Supporting research and conservation efforts through breeding programs aimed at releasing animals back into the wild.
  • An ecotourism destination: Providing environmentally friendly tourism experiences in line with the royal initiative of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great.

The zoo is divided into six key areas:

  1. Public park area: A space for relaxation and connecting with nature.
  2. Commercial area: Offering shops and various amenities.
  3. Flood prevention area: Designed to mitigate the impact of natural disasters.
  4. Research area: Supporting studies on animals and ecosystems.
  5. Parking area: Convenient parking facilities for visitors.
  6. Animal exhibition area: Exhibiting animals in suitable environments for educational purposes.

The new zoo will not only be a place for viewing animals but also a key center for knowledge and conservation, fostering a greater awareness of nature and environmental protection among the public.
