Pluang Buddha’s Footprint Worship, Khao Khitchakut District, Chanthaburi Province is held from the 1st waxing moon of 3rd lunar month to the 1st waxing moon of the 5th lunar month. It is a sacred tradition that has been passed down for many decades based on the belief that trekking to the top of Khao Khitchakut will bring high merit and also help train the mind, practice perseverance and persevere in the face of hardships. Once in a lifetime, you should find an opportunity to go up to worship this Buddha’s Footprint on Khao Khitchakut. It is believed that worshipping and praying for the Buddha’s Footprint is similar to meeting the Lord Buddha, which will bring happiness to family and life.

Buddhists, pilgrims and tourists will be allowed to worship the Buddha’s footprint on Khao Khitchakut. This mountain top, located in Khao Khitchakut National Park, Pluang Subdistrict, Khao Khitchakut District, Chanthaburi Province, is the place where the Buddha’s footprint is enshrined at the highest in Thailand over 1,050 meters. This Buddha’s footprint is characterized as a footprint on a large rock of about 2 meters deep, 1 meter wide and 2 meters long. It was found on the top of Khao Phrabat, approximately 4 kilometers from the Khao Khitchakut National Park Office.

In addition to the purpose of worshiping the sacred footprints of the Lord Buddha, while walking up the hill, you will see the beauty of nature on both sides of the way and the scenery on the mountain top, including the strange beauty of Hin Look Phra Bat which looks like a large round rock towering on the edge of the cliff. Each year, there are many Buddhists and tourists come with faith to worship the Buddha’s footprints. The journey up there cannot be done by using a private car. People in charge provide shuttle service to facilitate traveling up and down the mountain.
