Knowing all three types of Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA)

     The Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) is a collaboration between government and private sectors in bringing together public health safety measures and quality service standards. Issuing the SHA emblem represents the safety and hygiene standards of establishments.

      After the reopening of the country, the SHA standard was been extended to accommodate more tourists efficiently by setting three types of standards, namely SHA, SHA Plus (SHA+), and SHA Extra Plus (SHA++).

      Below are some examples of features in establishments that receive the standard SHA symbol:

  • Provide one-way entry-exit or have a screening point at every entrance-exit;
  • Establishments must have hand sanitizers, including alcohol gel, in pre-entry and checkout areas;
  • There is a temperature check of staff and service users every time;
  • Participants must wear a mask only to enter;
  • Limit the number and arrange a separate queuing area away from the service area;
  • Clean the service areas at least three times a day;
  • Provide adequate ventilation;
  • Garbage, waste, toilet paper, and used masks are properly disposed of;
  • Contactless payment methods are available;
  • Customers and guests should not use the services in the establishment for more than 1 hour.

      For businesses to be eligible for SHA Plus (SHA+), they must be SHA-assessed and provide proof of employee vaccination for at least 70% of all employees for application.

      Below are examples of an establishment's guidelines for applying for a SHA Extra Plus (SHA++) standard logo:

  • The establishment must be an establishment that has received the SHA Plus (SHA+) standard;
  • The establishment must accept foreign tourists traveling in the form of Test & Go or Sandbox;
  • The establishment must sign a contract (MOU) with an operating hospital;
  • The establishment must have a vehicle for picking up tourists from the airport.

      If the above conditions are met, it will qualify for the SHA Extra Plus (SHA++) logo.
