Longkong Tanyongmas.

Longkong Tanyongmas, Narathiwat Province, one of the GI products of the southern region. It is a native species which grows in the area of Narathiwat Province. The soft peel is green. When the fruit is ripe, the peel is yellow. The peel is rubberless, making it easy to peel off from the flesh. Water drop shaped, sweet transparent pulp, few or no seeds. Especially when the Longkong is fully cooked, the meat becomes crystal clear. Sweet taste, sweetness value 17-19 degrees Brix and diameter size 2.0-2.5 cm. It can be planted in both upland and plain areas. The method of harvesting should be using scissors to cut the fruit one by one.

Narathiwat Province is characterized by forests and mountains. Most of the plains are adjacent to the Gulf of Thailand. The climate is tropical monsoon. Due to the geography and climate with high humidity and a lot of rainfall, Longkong Tanyongmas has dry meat that is different from those grown in other areas and has a unique delicious taste. It is the source of the best production of Longkong in the country. Southern Thailand has many good things like Longkong Tanyongmas. If anyone has tasted it, it’s so addictive that it will surely make you say wow.
