A Journey of Taste and Culture to Advance Gastronomy Tourism

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Thairath Group have launched A Journey of Taste and Culture, a festival promoting Thai gastronomy tourism and community-based economic development.

On August 22, 2026, TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool and Thairath TV and Thairath Online Co-CEO Jitsupa Vacharaphol officially opened the festival at EM Market on the G Floor of EMSPHERE in Bangkok.

Organized under the Taste Journey Starter concept, the event showcases Thai cuisine as a reflection of local communities, traditional knowledge, and culinary heritage. Visitors are invited to discover signature dishes and local ingredients from Thailand’s five regions and to visit restaurants and food-producing communities nationwide.

The opening included a Household Percussion performance and a presentation on distinctive local ingredients. Highlighted dishes were Wan Chamuang by Chef Ploy and Khao Soi Mok Doi with Makwaen-Grilled Chicken by Chef Art, both featuring local herbs rooted in traditional Thai culinary knowledge.

The festival features Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand restaurants and long-established eateries from across Thailand. It also includes an exhibition of rare ingredients under the food-as-medicine concept, TAT tourism routes based on provincial dishes, and cooking demonstrations with complimentary tastings.

The event seeks to elevate local cuisine through special chef’s-table menus while supporting community economies and sustainable tourism.
A Journey of Taste and Culture is taking place from August 22 to 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at EM Market, EMSPHERE.
