What subjects can foreigners study by using a student visa?

Getting a student visa for foreigners who want to study in Thailand, or education visa (Non-immigrant ED), is not limited to studying at a school or university only. It has been found that, most of the time, many foreigners want to come to learn Thai language, as well as coming to train in skills such as learning Muay Thai, learning diving, studying religion, or even learning massage.

However, foreigners must study in institutions that are recognized by the Ministry of Education or by relevant government agencies in order to be able to apply for a student visa or Non-immigrant ED visa, which will allow them to stay in Thailand and study for 90 days. Therefore, before the visa expires, they must apply for a visa extension one month before the expiration date at the Immigration Office, which will consider allowing them to stay from the date specified in the letter of introduction from the institution, school, or university, but not more than one year.

For education visa holders, part-time work is not permitted, as it is a condition of the Non-immigrant ED visa.
