If a foreigner wants to apply for a work visa in Thailand, what are the steps?

        Foreigners still living abroad and not yet traveling to Thailand may wish to apply for a visa to work - Non-immigrant “B” visa – which is valid for 90 days. If they want a work visa for a period of 1 year, they must have a work permit first to be able to extend the visa. 

To apply for a Non-immigrant “B” visa, they can submit an application at a Thai embassy abroad by providing the following documents: 

1. Application form for obtaining a visa (TM.87, only for Por.15, Por.30, Por.Por.33 and Por.Por.90, only foreigners without visas);

2. Passport copy (photocopy of pages containing personal information, stamp traces, entry stamps, visa extension permit stamps (if any)), and TM.6 card;

3. One 2-inch photo;

4. Fee = 2000 baht;

5. Letter from the prospective employer explaining the necessity of hiring foreign workers and asking for cooperation in obtaining a type of visa (containing name, position, knowledge, ability);

6. Certificate of employment (according to the form of the Department of Employment);

7. Copy of juristic person registration certificate;

8. Copy of evidence of juristic person registration certificate;

9. Copy of VAT registration certificate  and shareholders' account ( PP.01 and Memorandum of Association for capital increase);

10. A copy of the latest year's financial statements certified by the Ministry of Commerce or the Revenue Department;

11. Copy of corporate income tax (PND.50);

12. A copy of the foreign worker's education proof and work pass proof certified by the embassy; 

13. Copies of corporate income tax records of Thai employees;

14. Letter asking for cooperation from the Office of the Board of Investment  (in cases of BOI promotion);

15. Photos of the company both internally and externally, including the company map.
