Permission fees for shooting foreign films in national parks in case of short-term filming with animals involved

     The term “national park” refers to any area that has been preserved to maintain its original natural conditions in order to benefit education and public happiness, and it is an area declared by a Royal Decree as a national park under the National Parks Act. Preservation of the natural environment in national parks is the main duty of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation. Since performing all these duties requires a budget, fees are collected from those utilizing the national park area, which are used for national park management. The activities include visiting, touring, researching, and filming. In particular, the permission fees for short-term filming in the national park with animals involved are as follows: 

  1. Permission fee for shooting movies by operators with Thai nationality or registered in Thailand or with nationalities of or registered in ASEAN countries is 1,500 baht/day;

  2. Permission fee for shooting movies by operators with nationalities of or registered in other countries (apart from 1) is 3,500 baht/day;

  3. Permission fee for shooting videos or documentaries by operators with Thai nationality or registered in Thailand or with nationalities of or registered in ASEAN countries is 1,000 baht/day;

  4. Permission fee for shooting videos or documentaries by operators with nationalities of or registered in other countries (apart from 3) is 3,000 baht/day;

  5. Permission fee for taking photographs by operators with Thai nationality or registered in Thailand or with nationalities of or registered in ASEAN countries is 1,000 baht/day;

  6. Permission fee for taking photographs by operators with nationalities of or registered in other countries (apart from 5) is 2,000 baht/day.
