The tourism sector is one of the strategic sectors that can drive the BCG economy. Growth needs to be accelerated yet be sustainable, as it is an economic activity that not only helps create jobs and distribute income directly to local people, but also encourages biodiversity and culture, including abundant natural resources, to attract and create comfort for tourists.
As a result, the development of the tourism sector with the BCG economy model focuses on sustainable growth of the tourism sector, namely efficient use of resources, added value, awareness of impacts on the environment and society, reduction of inequality and distribution of income to community tourist attractions or in secondary tourist cities, and an increase of income from tourism by 3 trillion baht, which is approximately 18% of GDP.The following five-year goals will decide its success:
