Thailand Travelers Fees.
Thailand prepares to collect domestic travel fees for foreign tourists, or “Thailand Travelers Fees" for those traveling by air, land and water, starting in early 2023.
For details of collecting the travelers fee for those traveling by air can be summarized as follows:
Foreign tourists entering Thailand by air must pay a fee of 300 per person per entry.
In this regard, the collection of fees shall be waived for the following individuals:
- Thai passport holders
- Flight controllers and staff
- Babies and children under 2 years old
- Other persons as determined by the Board of Directors
Air operators with the following characteristics shall have a duty to collect fees from foreign tourists who are inbound passengers in Thailand on behalf of the Fund.
- Holding an Air Operator Certificate whose principal place of business or permanent residence is located in Thailand
- Being a foreign air operator who provides regular service for scheduled or non-scheduled charter flights that are permitted to fly periodically and have a branch office located in Thailand or have an agent responsible for the collection and remittance of inbound passenger fees in Thailand.
Air operators are required to conduct the following duties:
- To collect the fee together with the airfare fare. The fee rate charged shall be displayed in the ticket or other document that lists the fee rate to be paid by the passenger.
- To submit a list of foreign tourists who are inbound passengers before the aircraft departs from the airport of the country of origin.
- To remit the collected fees to the Fund in accordance with the methods specified by the Fund within the period as follows:
- Fees collected from foreign tourists who are inbound passengers that enter Thailand between the 1st and the 15th of the month must be submitted by the last day of that month
- Fees collected from foreign tourists who are inbound passengers who enter Thailand between the 16th and the last day of the month must be remitted by the 15th day of the following month.
