Temporary Importation of Personal Vehicles by Sea

       Motor cars, motorcycles, yachts, or fishing vessels/ boats, which are temporarily imported with passengers and will be re-exported out of Thailand within 1-2 months, but not exceeding six months (for the purpose of traveling), will be exempted from duty, provided that the importer complies with Customs rules and regulations: 

 Required documents for temporary importation of personal vehicles

 - Application for performing Customs formalities for temporary importation of personal vehicles;

 - Registration certificate of the vehicle;

 - National identification card or passport of the person who controls the vehicle, with Tourist Visa (TR) and international driving license;

 - Authorization letter in case the person in charge of the vehicle is not the owner;

 - Air waybill;

 - Evidence of purchase, such as proforma invoice and invoice;

 - Copy of juristic person certificate;

 - Guarantee contract for re-export.
