Commerce Highlights Fresh Markets as a Popular Source for Fruit Purchases Among Thais.

The Ministry of Commerce revealed a survey indicating that fresh markets and night markets are the most popular sources for fruit purchases among Thais.According to a survey of over 4,600 respondents, most consumers prefer to buy fruits from fresh markets due to convenience and lower prices.

 

While supermarkets and fruit vendors remain popular choices, preferences vary by age group and region.

The survey showed that approximately 70% of respondents choose to buy fruits at fresh markets or night markets, making them the most popular options.In contrast, fruit vendors and supermarkets accounted for 42% and 32%, respectively.Fresh markets and night markets meet the needs for convenience and affordability, while supermarket purchases focus on quality. Additionally, popular fruits that people frequently buy include watermelon, oranges, and bananas, while seasonal fruits favored from May to August include durian, rambutan, and mangosteen.

 

Overall, fresh markets and night markets continue to be the preferred sources for fruit purchases among Thais due to their convenience and low prices, while supermarket purchases increase with income levels.

Thus, fruit purchasing is an integral part of consumption that best meets the needs for convenience and value.
