Laem Hat Beach, Koh Yao Yai, Phang Nga Province, is one of the famous tourist attractions of Koh Yao Yai. It is part of “Unseen Thailand.” Some people call it the Maldives of Thailand. It has been ranked as the 21st most beautiful beach in the world in 2023 by the World Beach Guide website.
The highlight of Laem Hat beach is the tip of the cape between Koh Yao Yai and Koh Yao Noi, extending into the sea. During low tide, you will see a kilometer-long stretch of white sandy beach, and it becomes a sandbar in the middle of the beautiful sea. The atmosphere is quiet, and the sea water is clear and ideal for taking pictures with the background of Koh Yao Noi. It has also been a setting for some Hollywood movies. That's why this beach is known among foreign tourists, but it’s not busy.
Koh Yao Yai is considered the tourism center of the Andaman Sea in Phuket, Phang Nga, and Krabi provinces. You can travel there all year round. You can take a boat from other islands and land on Laem Had, or get a motorcycle or car from central Koh Yao Yai and walk a little more.
