Freedom Beach, Phuket Province, One of Five Beautiful Thai Beaches Ranked in the World in 2023

Freedom Beach, Phuket Province, is a small and quiet beach hidden in the middle of a valley between Patong Beach and Karon Beach. The entrance is quite difficult to get in, so the beauty of nature has been maintained like a gem waiting to be discovered. The beach was ranked the 18th most beautiful sea in the world in 2023, according to the ranking on the World Beach Guide website.

Most of the tourists who come to Phuket might not be familiar with Freedom Beach because it is a mysterious beach hidden in a valley. to reach the entrance, you’ll have to cross over a hill next to a parking lot, or get a longtail boat from Patong. Getting to Freedom Beach is slightly difficult, but I can tell you that when you greet the white sandy beach, clear blue water, and the cool sea breeze, any tiredness will disappear in the blink of an eye.

Freedom Beach was originally named Mai Ngao Beach, which means beautiful wood, because the beach is in the middle of a forest, and there are many species of plants, growing abundantly. It is a beach with clear blue sea water contrasting with fine white sand and decorated with green trees that make you feel at ease. The trees provide shade, although the beach is not wide. The atmosphere surrounding it is very quiet, so this beach is really suitable for relaxation, especially sunbathing.

For those who like to snorkel, you can rent snorkeling equipment at the beach and go snorkeling and see coral reefs in the beach area.

There are two ways to get to Freedom Beach. The first way is to go by car, heading from Patong Beach to Tri Trang Beach. When you see the Avista Hideaway sign, turn left and go straight to the Freedom Beach car park. Then pay a fee of 200 baht per person to walk down to the beach.

The second way is to go by boat. It takes about 20 minutes from Patong to reach Freedom Beach. The round-trip boat fee is 400 baht per person.
