COVID measures for tourists entering the country

     The opening of Thailand after the reduction in the COVID-19 situation has shown that Thailand is still an essential destination for tourists who want to experience different places, but entering Thailand at this time, there are a few extra measures it would help tourists to prepare:

  • Documents certifying receiving at least 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine;
  • Must purchase travel health insurance that covers COVID-19 treatment;
  • If a person notices a respiratory illness before traveling, travel should be postponed and it should be treated first to reduce the spread of infection.

     These measures are different from many countries around the world that require a negative COVID test before traveling, while some countries mandate COVID-19 screening at airports upon arrival. At least nine countries, including France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Israel, the United States, Canada, India, Japan, and South Korea, require PCR testing on the first day of entry.

     In terms of precautions to take while in Thailand, visitors are advised to safeguard themselves by wearing a mask in public places and frequently washing their hands. If you have respiratory symptoms, use ATK to screen, and if you have a more severe illness, go to a medical facility for treatment. There is a policy for screening before entering the country in the case of departure from Thailand and the destination country. It is suggested that guests stay at SHA+ hotels, which will offer COVID-19 testing services by medical facilities certified by the Department of Medical Sciences laboratory standards.
