Business visa extension for foreigners working in Thailand

       Foreigners operating a business in Thailand with a non-immigrant visa category “B” who wish to extend their stay in Thailand are required to provide the following documents for visa extension at the immigration office in Bangkok or in other provinces. 

Required documents include the following: 

1. Application form for extension of temporary stay in the Kingdom (TM.7);

2. Copy of passport;

3. Employment certification letter following the form of the Immigration Office (STM1);

4. Copy of work permit;

5. Proof of business registration, such as copy of business registration certificate or copy of partnership registration certificate certified by the registrar not more than 6 months before;

6. Copy of shareholder list certified by the registrar not more than 6 months previously;

7. Copy of the balance sheet and income statement of the latest year, income tax return for companies or juristic partnership (PND.50) with receipt and copy of Form Sor.Bor.Chor.3 (must be certified correct by the Revenue Department or Ministry of Commerce or an auditor) or the original document (the most recent 2 years);

8. Copy of withholding tax form of Thai employees and the foreigner (the applicant) of the most recent 3 months with receipt;

9. Copy of personal income tax form of the foreigner (the applicant) of the latest year with receipt;

10. Copy of monthly social security report (SPS 1-10) of the most recent 3 months with receipt;

11. Copy of value added tax payment form (Phor.Phor.30 or Phor.Phor.36) for the past 3 months of the latest fiscal year with receipt;

12. Document or evidence explaining the necessity of employing the foreigner, such as no Thai people applied for the position that was announced, etc.; 

13. Map indicating the location of the company the applicant is working at;

14. Other documents or evidence requested by the committee monitoring official proceedings of officers of the Immigration Bureau (STM.2);

15. Photos of the company:

  • Outside, the address number and name of the company must appear;
  • Inside, there should be photos of employees who are working.

16. The original documents of item 5-10 must be brought to present to the officer;

17. In case the foreigner has accompanying family members, family documents must be presented, e.g., marriage certificate, child’s birth certificate, etc. 

       If the documents are issued by a foreign government, they must be certified by the embassy of that country. All pages of all documents must be stamped with the company seal and signed by the company authorized board of directors as specified in the company registration certificate. Two sets of documents are required.
