 MRT (Blue Line) Guide

        The Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line (Blue Line) Project by Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) is operated by Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM), with a total length of 48 km and 38 stations. The service is described below. 

        Hua Lamphong - Bang Sue, a distance of 20 km, 18 stations, the first subway line in Thailand;

        Hua Lamphong - Bang Khae, a distance of approximately 16 km, 11 stations, a combination of underground and elevated structures; 

        Bang Sue - Tha Phra, a distance of approximately 12 km, 9 stations, an elevated structure throughout the line.

Service hours

        Daily from 06.00 to 00.00. 
        Frequency during non-rush hours: Not exceeding 7 minutes per train.

        Frequency during rush hours: 4 minutes per train from 07.00 to 09.00 and 16.30 to 19.30.

        The number of MRT trains: Running service provides up to 54 trains.
        Fares start at 16 baht and go up to 43 baht.

MRT service also connects to other forms of travel for convenience and speed, as follows:

  • MRT Blue Line connects to MRT Purple Line at Tao Poon Station;
  • MRT Blue Line Chatuchak Station connects to BTS (Skytrain) Mo Chit Station;
  • MRT Blue Line Phahon Yothin Station connects to BTS Ha Yaek Lat Phrao Station;
  • MRT Blue Line Sukhumvit Station connects to BTS Asok Station;
  • MRT Blue Line Silom Station connects to BTS Sala Daeng Station;
  • MRT Blue Line Bang Wa Station connects to BTS Bang Wa Station;
  • MRT Blue Line Phetchaburi Station connects to Airport Rail Link (ARL) Makkasan Station.

In addition, there are other transportation connection points:

  • Bang Pho Station connects to Bang Pho Pier; 
  • Phetchaburi Station connects to Asoke Pier; 
  • Bang Wa Station connects to Bang Wa Pier; 
  • Sanam Chai Station connects to Rachini Pier; 
  • Bang Sue Station connects to Bang Sue Railway Station; 
  • Hua Lamphong Station connects to Hua Lamphong Railway Station; 
  • Saphan Phra Station Sit Klao connects to Phra Nang Klao Bridge Pier; 
  • Bang Son Station connects to Bang Son Railway Station.
