On 24 August 2026 in Kathmandu, Nepal, Ms. Vajratiya Vajrobol, Computer Technical Officer, Professional Level, and AI expert from the Digital Technology Division of the Government Public Relations Department of Thailand (PRD), represented Thailand as an invited speaker at a regional workshop organized by the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) in collaboration with the Association of Community Radio Broadcasters Nepal (ACORAB). The workshop was held under the theme “Challenges and Opportunities for Broadcasting in the Era of Convergence Media.”

Ms. Vajratiya delivered a presentation titled “AI-Powered Factchecking: Building a Smarter Approach to Detecting and Verifying Fake News,” highlighting the application of AI and Generative AI to support journalists and media professionals in checking, analyzing, and verifying information, as well as tackling false and misleading content.

A key highlight was the presentation of “Fake News Deep Verify,” an innovative AI-powered fact-checking platform capable of real-time verification in both Thai and English. The system integrates Large Language Models (LLMs), web search, multimodal analysis, and evidence-based verification to make media fact-checking faster, more accurate, and more efficient.

The presentation attracted strong interest from participants from various countries, who exchanged views on the use of AI to tackle false information. The discussion reflected growing regional interest in harnessing technology to strengthen fact-checking and enhance media credibility.

Ms. Vajratiya’s participation as a speaker at this regional forum also highlighted the capabilities of PRD personnel. As a global winner of the Inclusive & Secure AI For Everyone (iSAFE) Hackathon 2026, her participation underscored the PRD’s commitment to applying AI to enhance media operations, strengthen information credibility, and collaborate with international media networks in addressing false information in the digital era.
