Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs to attend the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings in Manila

H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, is scheduled to attend the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Related Meetings, and the activities to commemorate the 50th anniversarry of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), which includes the Conference of the High Contracting Parties to the TAC, on 20 - 25 July 2026 in Manila, Republic of the Philippines, with the expected participation of Foreign Ministers or representatives from 69 countries/organizations.

The Deputy Prime Minister will attend 17 ministerial meetings, where he will participate in discussions with ASEAN Foreign Ministers and his counterparts from ASEAN’s Dialogue Partners, namely Australia, Canada, China, the European Union, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the U.S., on ways to strengthen regional stability and security in response to challenges from both within and beyond the region, as well as exchange views on key regional and international developments. In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister will co-chair the ASEAN Post Ministerial Conference with the Republic of Korea, in his capacity as the Country Coordinator for ASEAN - ROK Dialogue Relations for 2024 - 2027, and moderate the breakout session of the Conference of the High Contracting Parties to the TAC under the topic “Advancing Cooperation in Addressing Emerging Threats and Challenges” alongside H.E. Mr. Francisco Pérez Mackenna, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile.
