Their Majesties the King and Queen Grant an Audience to Vietnamese President and His Spouse

Their Majesties the King and Queen have granted an audience to Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and his spouse, Madam Ngo Phuong Ly,

The audience took place at Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall, Dusit Palace, on 28 May 2026 at 17.21 hr, on the occasion of Mr. To Lam and his spouse paying an official visit to Thailand, as guests of the Thai government.

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, when he was the Crown Prince, represented His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great to visit Vietnam from 15 to 20 November 1992, at the invitation of former Vietnamese President Le Duc Anh. Other members of the Royal Family also visited Vietnam on many occasions.

Thailand and Vietnam established diplomatic relations on 6 August 1976. The year 2026 marks a new chapter: the 50th anniversary of Thailand-Vietnam relations. The friendship between the two countries has grown from strength to strength, and in 2025 Thailand and Vietnam elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
