Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs attends the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (Plenary Session) in Manila

On 21 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (Plenary Session), as well as the Opening Ceremony of the Meeting, in Manila.

The Vice Foreign Minister participated in following up on progress and advancing discussions on key priorities under the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship in 2026, including preserving ASEAN unity and centrality, strengthening ASEAN’s capacity to address current and emerging challenges, and enhancing engagement with its external partners, with ASEAN being in the driver’s seat, especially within the framework of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) as a cornerstone of ASEAN's rules-based regional order.
