Thailand-Cambodia Border Travel Advisory – Updated 24 July 2025
Because of the ongoing conflict and unrest along the Thai-Cambodian border, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has issued an urgent advisory for travelers. Several tourist attractions across seven provinces bordering Cambodia are now temporarily closed or not recommended to visit on account of safety concerns.
Affected Areas by Province
1. Ubon Ratchathani Province
Avoid these areas:
- Phu Chong – Na Yoi National Park, in Na Chaluai District (The park has not yet been closed, but it is not recommended to travel to it)
- Kaeng Lamduan, in Nam Yuen District (The area has not yet been closed, but it is not recommended to visit there)
- Chong An Ma Checkpoint, Nam Yuen District.
2. Surin Province
Avoid these areas:
- Prasat Ta Muen Group (Prasat Ta Muen Thom Prasat Ta Muen Tod and Prasat Ta Muen), in Phanom Dong Rak District
- Prasat Ta Kwai, in Phanom Dong Rak District
- Prasat Ban Pluang, in Prasat District
- Prasat Phum Pon, in Sangkha District
- Chong Chom, in Kap Choeng District
- Phanom Swai Forest Park, in Mueang Surin District
- Border areas of Phanom Dong Rak District.
3. Sisaket Province
Avoid these areas:
- Khao Phra Wihan National Park (Pha Mo I Daeng), in Kantharalak District
- Chong Sa-ngam, in Phu Sing District
- Border areas of Kantharalak and Phu Sing districts.
4. Buriram Province
Avoid these areas:
- Chong Sai Taku, in Ban Kruat District
- Ta Phraya National Park, in Lahan Sai District
- Border areas of Ban Kruat and Lahan Sai districts.
5. Sa Kaeo Province
Avoid these areas:
- Ban Khlong Luek Checkpoint and Rong Kluea Market, in Aranyaprathet District
- Prasat Sdok Kok Thom, in Khok Sung District
- Border areas of Aranyaprathet and Khlong Hat districts.
6. Chanthaburi Province
- Ban Laem Checkpoint, in Pong Nam Ron District
- Ban Phak Kad Permanent Border Checkpoint
- Border areas of Pong Nam Ron District and Soi Dao District.
7. Trat Province
- Ban Hat Lek Border Checkpoint, in Khlong Yai District
- Ban Muen Dan Checkpoint, in Bo Rai District
- Ban Ma Muang Checkpoint, in Bo Rai District.
The TAT will continuously update information on the tourist attractions in the above areas.
