Thai Government Honors “Nene Royal” After AGT Success

The government has recognized the international success of Nene Royal, also known as Rattikarn Amloy, after the 16-year-old singer from Phuket province earned the support of all four judges with a live vocal-and-guitar performance on America's Got Talent.

The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has instructed its Phuket provincial office to present Rattikarn with a bouquet in recognition of her achievement. The ministry is also considering honoring her with an Inspirational Youth honorary plaque on National Youth Day, observed annually on September 20.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Patdarasm Thongsaluaykorn said the government will continue supporting young people in developing their talents and pursuing opportunities on the international stage. She said National Youth Day also serves as an occasion to recognize young people whose accomplishments inspire others.

The Department of Children and Youth is also moving ahead with reforms to the Child and Youth Council system to create a more inclusive structure that better represents younger generations. The changes include expanding opportunities for young people to develop technological, creative, and other 21st-century skills to prepare them for future careers and success in the global economy.
