DOH implements four measures to ensure convenience and safety during Songkran.

Department of Highways (DOH) implements traffic measures to facilitate and ensure safety, aiming to reduce traffic congestion and reduce traffic accidents within the framework of "Smart Travel Songkran 2026."

The four traffic management measures during Songkran are as follows. (1) Regarding readiness, DOH have conducted inspections and improvements to the main roads, lighting and traffic signal systems. (2) As for road safety, traffic accident statistics have been analyzed to plan prevention measures. DOH also closed high-risk U-turns and intersections.(3) On the account of traffic facilitation, DOH has established service points nationwide to serve as rest stops and provide route information. DOH also waives tool fees on three motorway routes from April 10 to April 16, 2026, which include*Motorway No. 7 (Bangkok–Chonburi-Pattaya-Map Ta Phut) กรุงเทพฯ - ชลบุรี - พัทยา - มาบตาพุด*Motorway No. 9 (outer ring road: Bang Pa-in–Bang Phli and Phra Pradaeng–Bang Khun Thian) บางปะอิน - บางพลี และช่วงพระประแดง - ต่างระดับบางขุนเทียน*Motorway No. 81 (Bang Yai–Kanchanaburi) บางใหญ่ – กาญจนบุรี(4) In terms of monitoring, HDMS (Highways Disaster Management System) has been implemented for reporting and recording all accident cases.
