🔹Bangkok Travel and Public Service Updates During the 2026 IMF–World Bank Group Annual Meetings
Thailand is ready to welcome more than 15,000 participants from 191 countries to the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, taking place from 12–18 October 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC). The public is invited to extend a warm welcome to visitors and plan their journeys and use of nearby facilities during the meetings.
QSNCC will be closed to the general public from 11–18 October, with food and goods deliveries by delivery riders to the building suspended during this period. Normal operations will resume on 19 October. Benchakitti Park will remain open as usual from 4:30 AM to 10:00 PM, but the connecting gates between the park and QSNCC will be closed during this period. Please use the park entrances and exits on Ratchadaphisek Road or Rama IV Road instead.
Commuters travelling along Ratchadaphisek Road between the Rama IV and Asok Montri intersections, or along Rama IV Road near QSNCC, are advised to allow extra travel time, check alternative routes, and use public transport, particularly the MRT, to help ease traffic congestion.
Government agencies in Bangkok will implement work-from-home arrangements on 12, 14, and 15 October. A special public holiday has been designated for 16 October in Bangkok only, while 13 October remains a regular public holiday. State-owned enterprises, financial institutions, educational institutions, and private-sector organizations, particularly those near QSNCC, are encouraged to consider adjusting their working arrangements as appropriate.
