Thailand Unleashes “ULTRAMAN HERO RUN 2026” to Celebrate Ultraman's 60th Anniversary

The Kingdom of Thailand is set to welcome one of the year’s biggest pop culture sporting events as the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, through the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), launches “Amazing Thailand presents ULTRAMAN HERO RUN 2026,” a nationwide event celebrating the 60th anniversary of Ultraman while boosting tourism and local economies across the country.

The project was officially unveiled today, July 7, 2026, by TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool, together with partners Funtertainment, DEX, and Tsuburaya Fields Entertainment at Siam Paragon.

Held under the “Hero Mission” concept, the event combines fitness, entertainment, and Japanese pop culture, bringing the nostalgia of the classic Showa-era Ultraman series to fans of all generations.

The race series will travel across three major destinations in Thailand. The first event takes place on July 19, 2026, at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal, followed by the second race on September 26, 2026, at Hat Yai Municipal Park. The final leg will be held in Kanchanaburi in November during Thailand’s peak cool-season travel period.

Fans can also look forward to exclusive appearances by Ultraman, Ultraseven, and Kanegon, who will travel directly from Japan to join the celebrations in Thailand. Participants who complete the race will receive specially designed commemorative finisher medals inspired by the iconic franchise.

The TAT says the event is part of its broader strategy to strengthen Thailand’s position as a global destination for sport tourism and pop culture events. Organizers expect the project to generate revenue for local businesses, hotels, restaurants, and transportation services while encouraging family travel and attracting visitors from across the region.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the TAT are inviting Ultraman fans and runners alike to join the mission and experience a one-of-a-kind event that blends entertainment, tourism, and fitness in celebration of one of Japan’s most beloved heroes.!
